Baumüller expands its DSD servomotor family

Baumüller is expanding its servomotor portfolio to include the DSDI range of ie motors (integrated electronics) for power ranges of below one kilowatt. The permanently excited synchronous servomotors in sizes 028 and 036 are a further development of the DSD 028 and 036 small servomotors. Like the DSD range, the DSDI motors feature a compact design, a smooth housing surface, excellent rotational accuracy and a high overload capacity. They also offer extremely good dynamic performance and a good torque/inertia ratio. The particular characteristic of the new ie motors is that the control and power electronics are integrated directly in the motor. This significantly reduces the cabling requirement, which substantially increases uptime and also maintenance friendliness.

The system is suitable for applications in which small power outputs of less than one kilowatt are required and can be used, for example, in extruder feeds, printing machines and knitting machines. The DSDI motors support the CANopen and Profibus fieldbus systems. In addition to the Hall feedback system which comes as standard, square-wave incremental sensors and Hall sensors are available as options for the new servomotors.
